Rule tier: $generichide on the page. EasyList ships @@://localhost/$generichide (un-hideable tier, line 79960 on 2026-10-08), a pattern with no host anchor, so it matches this page when its URL carries ?via=http://localhost/. Brave ORs the flag across its two engines, and a set flag stops the generic class/id path for both (cosmetic_filters_js_handler.cc:828-830).
Two plain generic rules that hide these elements on every other page: ##.ad-zone (Brave First Party Adblock Filters, force tier; hidden on cosmetic-ad-zone) and ###AdTopLeader (EasyList, un-hideable tier; hidden on cosmetic-subtree-known-ad-id). Expected in both modes: both visible.
Expectations are Brave's verdicts, stated in pages/cosmetic-fixtures.json (ENG-2306); until Brave is measured they are hypotheses. The status line mirrors the Standard expectation.
